Heil Footswitches
The two Heil footswitches shown are bolted to the metal grill using a single bolt through each unit,
one switch controls my Heil Pro-set, and the other one, my Heil HM-10, which is on a Luxo Boom.
There is a hard rubber covering on the bottom of the unit, exactly the same as the one on the top,
this stops the footswitch slipping and sliding around on top of the metal grill, but it is possible to
operate without bolting down, though it has a much better feel to it when firmly fixed down !!!!!!!!
The unit has to be opened up to carry out this operation and it may be a good idea to lubricate the
moving joint parts whilst open, and fix the units down inboard, to allow either foot operating !!!!!!!
The footswitch on the left is a few years old, and has probably been operated in excess of 250,000
times, the return spring feels very weak, compared to the new one shown on the right hand side.
Note the fan heater underneath the grill, positioned so as not to damage the footswitches.
