It's all coming together
Regardless of what happened, four lanes of this bridge had to be working at any given time, apart from
authorised slots of one lane each way running, and sometimes total closure on very rare occations, but
only during the night
For anyone who knows this area, the tower crane on the left of centre in the big green circle, was
working on the renovation of the Clock Tower in Deira, this work being just outside of our works.
Sections of this bridge deck could be raised to allow shipping to travel up the section of water inlet know
as "The Creek". It was bad luck if you got into the wrong lane when this new traffic system was open
to the public, being in the wrong lane at the wrong time meant a long
detour...............................................
