The Big Lift In Dubai
This barge mounted crane was brought in by our company, firstly to lift off complete spans of the
Al Maktoum Bridges, these sections were then taken by barges to the shore were they were
winched onto dry land and demolished using huge hydraulic breakers, the large steel beams were
saved, and cast into the newly constructed precast sections of bridge deck, before being
transported back to be lifted back into their final position.

When this crane completed it's task, it was to be towed to the Northern
part of the Gulf, to work in the Kuwait / Iraq areas, it encountered a storm
on the way and consequently capsized and sank to the bottom of the sea.

This machine was visible on it's journey down the Gulf, two days before it
finally arrived with us, it just looked bigger and bigger each hour of the day.
