Basic Ham Radio Station in West Africa
Down to basics, running an FT890 powered by two very heavy duty 12 volt batteries,
trickle charged by the red battery charger on the desk, I had to install Papst fans in
both the charger and the power supply. The 12 volt power supply at the other end of
the desk, sometimes used when 240 volts mains supply was available, either via the
mains grid, or one of our large Caterpillar diesel powered generators on the works
site. Yep, this posting in Northern Ghana was pretty basic, and tough at times!!!!!!
